Sage Room at Harveys Lake Tahoe

We went to the Sage Room for their Bananas Foster and superb view of Lake Tahoe. It did not disappoint on ANY element of the experience!! The view was everything you could hope for, and could be enjoyed from every table, though ours was the best with a corner window. The service was 5 star with friendly staff that continued to be attentive to any need we might have. I'm a big water drinker, and they didn't let my glass get an inch down before refilling it! We started with cocktails as we watched the sun move toward the horizon. My husband ordered the sea bass, I had the salmon, and we ordered a side of asparagus. Delicious food with large servings! As the sun was setting, we enjoyed the table side preparation of Bananas Foster for two. We were married here almost 40 years ago, and it was my first experience with this dessert, and the reason we chose this venue for dinner. It was the perfect ending to a wonderful experience! If your wallet can take the hit, it is well worth it!

My Aunt and I came here to enjoy our last evening in Lake Tahoe. We got to watch the sunset and the view was amazing ‼‼The food was great too I had the sea bass. They also made an amazing Spanish Coffee. Would highly recommend and would definitely dine there again.

The view of the lake is what makes this a good place to eat. But the prices are rather high for the quality. Rib Eye steaks were huge. Caps were good. Filet Mignon ordered medium looked medium rare but some parts were rather tough. The black pepper corn sauce it came in was good though. French Onion soup was excellent. The Banana Foster made at the table was good and huge. The waiter kept urging us to order 2 for the table but one was enough for 4. Service was a little bit slow at first but picked up as the evening went along. Wine list is huge and has some reasonably priced ones. Lots of seating most with good views.

We have not been to Sage Room Steak House for a few years, we like to visit for our anniversary. It is a wonderful steak house with upscale food. The presentation and options are excellent. Our server was wonderful and attentive. I did not care for the table we had, I just wanted a better view, but other than that everything was stellar. My steak, New York aged, was perfectly cooked and seasoned— the mushroom glaze was a lovely addition that did not overpower the steak but gently complimented it. My husband had the filet minion and he enjoyed the bacon butter and stated it was cooked wonderfully, both medium rare. We also had the Caesar salad, though it was excellent— this is the only Caesar salad my husband will eat— it use to be better when it was made table side. In fact their table side is what makes this restaurant truly exceptional. I also had the potato’s au gratin. The potatoes were perfectly cooked—maintaining their structure whilst proving to remain soft to the palate. The flavor of cheese and perfectly broiled top, added a layered taste experience. My husband ordered the paper plane drink, table side. As the waiter, Sy, made the drink his pride and effort was transparent and later tasted when the drink was completed. My husband truly enjoyed the walnut bitters at the end of each sip. Finally the bananas fosters, once again table side— really should never be made any other way. They were perfect. The bananas were at the peak of ripeness, structurally perfect (al dente) and flavor substantial, the syrup was perfectly balanced between sugar, cinnamon, butter and rum. The flavors balanced to create an excellent bananas foster. The vanilla gelato were two scoops of excellent vanilla flavors that created complimentary flavors with the bananas. I cannot say enough about the quality of the food and drinks, from the bread and butter to the final course. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone looking to have a special time. Please never get rid of the table side options and please add the table side Caesar salad back, I am willing to make the trip and spend more for these options. Otherwise I could just go to Ruth Chris. Thank you.

The ambiance was relaxed yet sophisticated. The food was great and the view was breathtaking. I would consider this fine dining. We came with a group of 6, multiple drinks around with appetizers and a meal for everyone came close to 900 including tip. The chef & team did a phenomenal job at accommodating our friends extremely strict dietary restrictions. I would definitely recommend experiencing this restaurant with a table next to the windows. Not a single complaint from any one of us. We truly enjoyed it. Can believe we've been coming up to Nevada state line all these years and not once coming here. I look forward to my next visit.

On 7/31 we held a group birthday celebration with 30 people. The staff was amazing including Frank, Hal and Teddy. We had a few extra people show up unexpectedly and the staff was gracious in accommodating us with a gorgeous lake view setting. The food was delicious! The filet, salmon and dessert were a huge hit. A memorable night never to be forgotten. Highly recommend booking an event at the Sage Room! Thank you again!

The food is ok, not so great, that’s why I gave them 4 stars only. The ribeye was said prime ribeye on the menu but when we taste it, it doesn’t taste like prime but choice. The service is also not up to the standard of a high end restaurant. They brought us marrow but did not bring a spoon to eat with, had to call them to get one. Then when they bring the beef, they didn’t bring the knife and we had to stop them again to ask for it. The view is nice but we came at night so unfortunately we couldn’t see much outside. If you come during the day it will be better

Everything was wonderful, food was amazing! The Sea Bass was my favorite, the Truffle Ghnocci Mac & cheese was also delish!! Our server was amazing I wish I could remember his name! He even got us a special desert for our honeymoon. Frank got us the best seat in the house
